Sometimes finding the diagnostic cable, connector, or port for using BUDS is difficult to do if you are unfamiliar with the BRP product you are working on. To find them, go to the Knowledge Center / Documents and Articles, and search for the Shop Manual Directory. Open it select the product year and model you need. Then, look through the menu to find the Wiring Harness and Connectors chapter in the Electrical System section and click VIEW. Scroll into the chapter and look for the diagram of the connector locations for your vehicle. Then identify the diagnostic connector and its location.
Now, this is where it gets tricky.
For Snowmobiles and PWC's, you are looking for the COM connector.
For Off-Road vehicles, you are looking for the DB connector.
For On-Road (Spyder) vehicles you are looking for the DLC connector.
See these images below.
Note: We are working on a project to standardize the connector acronym, so in coming years the name may change to DLC which is used widely in the automotive industry. These current acronyms are also used on the Wiring Diagrams.
